CONTACTING Funnies

Adude called us up and asked if we were to die today would we go to heaven... The way he asked the qeustep was strange and his tone of voice.. I felt like it was a trap. So I asked him what the heaven were to him.

He got upset and started jumping to conclusiosn, and he attacked the church. The best part was w he told us he knew us and that we were teaching blasphemy. Elder Unruh said, [ Really, then what is my name ( covering up his tag9. Dude ¨ummmmm.... well the libro de mormon, uh, what does mormon mean? Elder Unruhy, Ïts a person.... The Dude; ¨NO! MORMON = POLYGAMY!! Then the guys stomped off. I was then thinking Silly paster, Hate, is of the devil. 

Then we ran into other drugs. but that is usual.

 Ginas baptism= amazing. I gave a mensaje which was easy. The best part is her uncle baptized her. I was in tears because I was overcome by the spirit. I could feel that the lord accepted this baptizsm.  It is amazing. I feeling I cannot desribe with words. I love this work. The church is true. Amamen.

April 27

Abril 20 to Abril 26 plus a few too.

• Highlights

Changes brought new people in the District such as a new district leader named Elder Mortensen. Tomorrow I do intercambios with him, so Hopefully it goes well. I miss the others that had changes but saddly that is the mission. The sad part is Elder Breas was changed to Cajamarca. Which means he will be split into the other mission. Well nos vemos en la otra vida. haha.

NEXT WEEK WE ARE SET TO HAVE A BAPTISM!!!

Gina Vidarte has a baptismal date for May 2nd. She turns 18 this tuesday and then thursday she will be interviewed. She has been meeting with the missionaries for over a year, the only thing that held her back is now in the mission the baptismal candidate must be an adult. Period. President Williams allows no exceptions... She is an example of patience. She was willing to wait. Her uncle will baptize her to I hope all goes well.

I Have a hammock now I just need to figure out how to hang it up?¡!

Elder Unruh and I ordered New Testaments from online and they showed up already. The church is really fast.

Why? The sabbath was made for the benefit of man. Man did not make the sabbath. It is smart just to keep it. Plain and simple. Period. Nada mas. With all Gods commandments if we have faith enough to keep them we will be able to. period. Jaja. haha.
Also its the Saviours day.

Weird story... I guess I woke my companion up by my sleep talking. He asked me the next day and he was like, [ So did you have a bad dream or so,[ I was like no,,, I don{t remember my dream... He said I was yellling, and I quote, Donde esta mi compaÑero, donde esta mi comp...

April 20

Wow, I can say is missionary work rejuvinates.

I will be in Barrio Kennedy, Estaca Dorado for another change. I am actually really happy that I didn{t get changed. I love the ward. There are things that bug me, but hey Asi es la Vida. Viva la Vida. Live it up.

One this that I am trying to work on this week is like alma said, mas o menos, Bridle your ¨(FReakIng) Passions.

I hope all if well at home. This week was an interesting week, weird, different, but a plain o good week in general. Especially today because it is Pday.

The Highlights of the week:

1. THE EASTER PACKAGE

    (It was perfect, thank you) Thank you to all that helped make it

         I LOVE Y´ALL

         To be honest it made me miss home

But that does not mean I am trunky

2. There were suprise interviews

     I was stoked... It meant I could go out of the zone and actually see other parts of Chiclayo.

Plus, I enjoy chatting with President Williams.

At the beginning of the mission I was so nervous, but now I am likeBringItSon. #JustDoit #ImissTechnologyandMusic

ONe thing that stood out to me is he said that I should write down my questions for him, so I quote, When your district leader, you will.....

Freaking, REally, WHy, well here we go.

HAHAHA. LIFE IS FUNNY.

I have realized that all I have done so far in life has prepared me for now, the time is coming close, so get your acts together. In conference, if I am not mistaken, one of the general authorities mentioned the second coming is near. What does near mean? Does that matter, All I care is I want to be caught in the act of serving people when our Savior, Comes again.

This week

Our week was wonderful. Conference was I CANNOT DESCRIBE IT IN WORDS. I will now download the entire 12 hours to review and study and cherish the words in my heart. The family sure is under attack.

Yeah the highlight of my week was actually sunday night after conference. Elder Unruh and I set a fecha on Gina Vidarte for the 2nd of may. What is cool is the actions leading up to this date. We had a family that just basically failed on off. They chose to just stop having us come. It was heart=wrenching. The next days I prayed, studied, and hoped for a family or a baptismal. While I was reading during personal study I came a across a verse that spoke to me. One thing I love to study in the scriptures my name which is Joshua. I was reading and boom it says Joshua son of Nun. This part didn't mean anything to me before, but it hit me about a family that we have been teaching. They had an uncle in our ward named Nun. Wow. WOW. Is all I can say. We asked Nun to come teach with us. The second time we taught with him Gina accepted the date and she is ready. Her sister said she didn't know yet, but said if she came to know for herself then she would also get baptized. Also this family came to conference. YES.

All I can say was this was a miracle and inspiration.

March 30

This was another hard week of good ol work. Hmm the interesting things that happened... I did a work visit with Elder Powell. Elder Unruh my comp went with Elder Breas in Los Proseles, and Elder Powell and I stayed in my area kennedy. It was kind of cool because two changes ago Elder Breas and Elder Unruh were companions in Cajamarca, so it was a good old time for them.

I had a lot of fun with Elder Powell. We are both the junior companions, but it didn{t matter. Elder Powell came in the same group and Elder Unruh, so time really doesn{t matter. We taught a reference we received named Amanda and her son. I am terrible with names so ya. It was a good lesson. wE stopped at the great apostasy part of the lesson because we had another appointment on the other side of the area. I feel like she will be one to progress.

I am working hard to get into the habbit of asking the people to be baptized the first lesson. It is actually a really good way to tell if the people actually want to progress. Next step is setting the baptismal dates though. 

If people say no, We listen and try to help them resolve their problems, but hey everyone has the right to choose.

We had a lady this last week tell us no after teaching her all the lessons. It was heart breaking, but what evs. She then was like, Are you still going to come back though even if I don{t want to get baptized. I, being a little hurt in my mind said ya right. Patience is hard sometimes. We will go back to her just after everything falls through and will get all contacts we needed done. I am not going to waste the Lord^s time on an eternal investigator.

My new companion is Elder Unruh. He is from Salt lake city. He played basketball for east high for a couple years. Then his senor year he would just go skiing kind of like what Spencer Herzog did with open holes in his schedule. We get along very well and we work really hard. Some night I am falling asleep during planning. 

I don{t know, to be honest I hate writing so I will upload more pictures. It is easier that way.

March 23

This Week

This week was full of fun and hard work. Nada mas. I am not really a person of very many words, so I will try to illustrate with my pictures what happened, but I will give it my best shot.

Basically I love missionary work. I am slowly conquering my fears through the atonement. I know that the atonement provides each of us with power. God wants a powerful people. We did service on a day. That was fun. I really enjoy service. I also had a work visit with my district leader for weekly planning which I learned a lot.

I believe we can learn something new from everyone we come in contact with. You just need to have the right attitude. 

I love the scriptures¿!¿! They make more sense every day. Poco a poco, line upon line precept upon precept.

Spanish I have given in that it will take me a while to master it. I have to get over trying to be a perfectionist and just go for it. 

We had a talent show in the stake. I loved it. Some missionaries from my district and I did a skit about the first day in the mission field. I felt like a was at timberline playing and acting like a goof ball in the skit. My part was I got to rob the two missionaries playing the newbies. How enjoyable was that hahahahahahahahaha.

Talent Show

I gave my first talk in Spanish. I just prepared like a would have in English. Also I used a strength, english as an example. I read a part of a letter Pappy sent me in English
. Then I explained to the people that sometimes we don´t understand the whispers of the spirit. haha you got to work wit wat ya got.
